Our Pick: 5 Vintage Events

We love a vintage fair and are planning on attending lots this summer so we have rounded up a handful that are happening in the South East in case you fancy it too!

1. Firle Vintage Fair

When: 9th and 10th August
Where: Firle Place, Firle

The village of Firle in the parish of Lewes in East Sussex means in old-English 'overgrown Oak'. Dating back to the Domesday Book when it records Firle as being valued £44, it was amongst the highest valued in the country. The vintage fair is held at Firle Park and even has carriage rides!

When: 16th - 20th July
Where: Folkestone Racecourse, Stone Street, Westenhanger, Hythe

This 5 day military and vintage festival at Folkestone Racecourse is an amazing day out. There is a massive vintage scene with a dedicated Vintage Village with rows of vintage stalls and my favourite vintage hair and make up saloons where you can get some victory rolls put in. History groups as well as individuals dress up in the style of 1930 to 1960 making it feel like you are stepping back in time.

When: 20th July
Where: Belmont, Belmont Park, Throwley, Faversham

Held in the gorunds of Belmont House in Throwley near Faversham, they'll have everything from retro sweets to kitchenalia, vintage clothing to handmade gifts. There will be a tea tent serving delicious homemade cakes alongside tea.

When: 12 - 14 September
Where: Goodwood, Chichester, West Sussex

Many revival visitors go to many lengths to recreate their favourite look from either to 40s, 50s or 60s. It is like stepping back in time with a revival hair saloon, vintage shops and vintage cars racing.

When: 20th and 21st September
Where: The Historic Dockyard, Chatham, Kent

A truly vintage do with spitfire displays, an air raid reenactment, 1940s village square, anti aircraft gun display, garden picnics,  vintage pop up tearooms and vintage clothing shops.
